September 2nd, 2010

Carrie and David met up with me in Central Park for a lovely early evening photography session. They were both extremely photogenic and so much fun to work with. I wanted to share a couple of photos on here as a sneak peek before I leave for Europe tonight!

Things I love Thursdays!

August 26th, 2010

This whole month has gone by faster than all the months in this year! I am sad summer is over, but happy that fall is near. I love wearing boots, layering clothes, and my leather jackets. I also love fall weddings! I am looking forward to photographing Joey Reynolds’ wedding in Arizona. Having a lovely couple appreciate my work so much, that they fly me out to another state is exciting! I have never been to Arizona before, so it will be a memorable travel experience as well!

Speaking of travel, I am going to Europe for two weeks, a week from now! This will probably be my last update until I return from my vacation. I travel to Europe once a year, and this trip, I am going to parts of Holland, Sweden, Norway, and maybe Paris if there is any time to spare. I will be taking many pictures like usual. Maybe even find some inspiration to photograph and turn into large posters.

I have also been contemplating on not bringing any large pieces of luggage. Keeping everything I bring as minimal as possible. I wonder if I can do it. I want to accept a challenge, maybe just a standard size backpack instead of my travel backpack? I really do not want to pay the luggage fees. This blog I found has been inspiring me to just bring nothing but a travel vest with tons of pockets. I think that would be a little risky though. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Things I love Thursdays!

August 19th, 2010

There is only one major announcement today, and that is the NEW Nikon D3100 is about to be released.
Today I read more details from the Nikon website. I am really excited to be able to purchase one, maybe two for backup purposes. Also it will be easier to lug around and bring to events and maybe a second shooter? Hmm

Check out the details here!

Welcome new apartment, photo studio, and other updates!

August 11th, 2010

Its been a little over a month since I updated to this site. So much has been happening!!! After almost a year of searching for a new apartment in NYC, I found one in the LES! A brand new live work loft space. Its pretty sweet. Once everything is set up, I will definitely update with some pictures. I will have a full studio in the living room with different color backgrounds, maybe some lighting rentals, and other goodies. I know I want to play with some lenses from CameraConcierge.com They are the best rental company in the US!

Last week I had the pleasure of attending Xiao Ye’s grand opening dinner in the LES. The owner, Eddie Huang, is a fresh to death chef! We grew up together in Orlando, and did not ever cross paths till I discovered his other restaurant, Baohaus last year! After a few conversations on Twitter, we realized we had the same circle of friends. Small world eh? I’m going to write a more detailed description of Xiao Ye on Yelp! But I really want to share a couple of pictures with you. There was not much light in the restaurant, so I turned up the ISO and just shot quickly before everyone grabbed the food.

Tomorrow I will update with “Things I love Thursdays” again! Anyone have any ideas they would like to share with me? e-mail me!

Wedding of Pinar and Daniel – Sneak peek!

June 26th, 2010

This past Thursday, I photographed a beautiful wedding at Studio 450 for Pinar and Daniel. Pinar strategically planned every detail and made sure everything was complete till just moments before she walked down the aisle! I think she should become a wedding planner, because she handled everything better than anyone I know!
We took some breathtaking sunset photos on the rooftop. Everyone had a chance to have fun and jump around for many of the shots. After the photo session, we had dinner. One of the most delicious food choices I’ve experienced at a wedding. I am still craving more black truffle butter!

Weekend warrior

June 19th, 2010

Apologizing for the lack of updates recently. I have been pretty busy working on new job, new projects, and catching up on some editing! This is my first weekend I have actually had the chance to catch up on much needed errands in my life. Next week I will be shooting a BIG NYC wedding. It is taking place during the week! I am excited to show you all my latest creations. I found some new action scripts for CS5 that is making my editing life much easier!

Weddings have been my specialty for a long time, but my new favorite subject to photograph is maternity photos. I love capturing the beauty and essence of a woman and her pregnant belly. So much emotions come out of the photographs I take. I found beauty and light in every image, and I never thought I would be such a natural at capturing moments like these! Congrats to the Murdocks and I can’t wait to meet and photograph “Baby Murdock” next month!!!

Things I love Thursday!

May 27th, 2010

♥ Reading up on a few lists pertaining to SUMMER FUN! Courtesy of womenshealthmag.com

1. Soccer Action – On June 12, the United States plays England in the World Cup. It’ll be the first time in 60 years that the two teams have gone head-to-head. Go team!

2. High def underwater photos – Next week I will be going on a tropical vacation to Curacao – Watch out for underwater pics! YEAH! :)

3. Nautical style – Wrap a rope belt around a striped shirt!

4. Rockstar-worthy pedicures – Metallic nail hues are usually a fall look, but this summer they’re hot peeking out of sandals. Try Passion Pirouette or Night Moves from Barielle ($8, barielle.com), or paint your nails anywhere with Sally Hansen’s Quick Color Pen in Fuchsia Chrome ($8, sallyhansen.com).

5. One shoulder dresses – Bright one-shoulder dresses are all the rage right now. This sexy style will most definitely turn the head of your own Hercules.

6. True Blood Season Premiere – Whether you’re on Team Bill or Team Eric, there will be plenty of sexy, sinister action come June 13.

7. Boyfriend jean shorts – Yep—the comfy, flattering, so-cool denim style can also be worn as cutoffs.

8. Free celestial show – The next partial lunar eclipse won’t be until 2012, so get up early on June 26 and look skyward: Earth will block a portion of the sun’s rays from reaching the moon. The eclipse will start around 5 a.m (EDT) and last about five hours.

9. Cuban style for girls – Straw hats and fedoras are all the rage right now

10. Inventive outdoor fitness – Try this quick fresh-air workout from personal trainer Lindsay Fisher. Repeat the circuit three times.

• 25 squats: Stand in front of a park bench, hands behind your head, and squat. Thighs must be parallel to the ground.

• 15 pushups: Put both hands on the bench, slightly more than shoulder-width apart, shoulders over your wrists, legs straight out behind you. Lower yourself until your elbows reach a 90-degree angle or until your chest hits the bench. Push up and repeat.

• 15 step-ups (on each side): Step your right foot onto the bench so your right thigh is at a 90-degree angle to your hip (keep your hands on your hips or behind your head). Push down into your right heel and bring your left leg up. Step down and repeat. (This move works your glutes and hamstrings.)
