Happy Chinese New Year! I just got back tonight from a week in San Francisco for Christie and Michael’s Wedding. They flew me out to photography andcelebrate their marriage with their family and friends. Many of them travelled from as far as Hong Kong to celebrate with this special couple. The reception took place at Hidden Valley Farm a few miles from San Jose.
Here is a sneak peek! Many more photos to come this week!

Tonight I’m meeting up with potential wedding clients in Gramercy.

This weekend was fun, my boyfriend and I went to the New Museum on Bowery yesterday. We went on the slide installation and browsed other interesting art in the building. I took this picture of him on the rooftop! I love this picture of him so much that I’m going to blow it up and frame it!

I hope everyone has a wonderful New Year in 2012. This year has gone by so fast, I’ve progressed into a more creative individual. I’ve been inspired by every wedding I’ve photographed. Met some incredibly talented people through attending the Photo Plus Expo. Meeting my mentor Jasmine Star. Falling in love with the man of my dreams. Everything turning into reality. Bliss. Watching my success grow. Booking 7 weddings for 2012! Nominated for “Best of Weddings” by The Knot! Earning another year of “Brides Choice Award” by Wedding Wire!

In 2012 I will be photographing a wedding in San Francisco January 23-30th, End of February and into March, I will be photographing and attending my cousin’s wedding in Hong Kong!

Please check the calendar for up to date availability for my photography services. I don’t outsource, so I give you my full and personal undivided attention!

Happy New Year and lots of love to bring into 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With love,

Susan Shek

I was waiting to photograph this wedding for a long time. Sharing the last wedding I shot in 2011! Celina + Dominic contacted me last year regarding their wedding. The moment we got together, we clicked and I understood exactly the style Celina and Dominic appreciated. We had a fun engagement session at the MTA museum and the pictures were perfect! Their wedding was held in Times Square at the Millenium Hotel and the Hudson Theater next door. It was a big ceremony in the hotel, then the reception and dancing was in the breathtaking theater. So many people were getting married on this day. We took a lot of fun pictures outside through the crowded Times Square. My second photographer, Mike, was also assisting me in photographing their wedding!

Kelly + Joe had a beautiful ceremony on the top of Owl Head Park in Brooklyn, NY. There was a Mariachi band, Mexican food, and a Pinata filled with candy at the reception/picnic. Reverend Annie Lawrence was also there to wed the couple with me.

Emily and Sean met with me a couple months back to discuss the planning of their wedding. We set up the engagement shoot so they would have pictures for their announcements and to share with family and friends. Their wedding is not until July, but we definitely had some nice fall weather to enjoy before Winter arrived. Love the trees and how wonderful they photographed together!

Emi and Scott are very dear friends of mine. I introduced them to each other 4 years ago back when there was MySpace. Last year Scott proposed to Emi and I was jumping for joy! I waited for that day for a while and ecstatic when I found out! Emi and Scott plan on having their wedding on February 2012 in Tampa, Florida.

Kara + Alex had a beautiful ceremony at their home in New York City. Over 30 family and friends gathered by candlelight to celebrate the marriage. After the ceremony, everyone was transported to 60 Thompson for the reception party. We took photos inside and also at the rooftop of the hotel.

Kat + Joe had a spectacular ceremony on Friday. The ceremony was held at the Lady of Good Counsel Church during mass. This was my second time photographing a Catholic wedding in New York City. After the ceremony, a white 1955 Rolls Royce picked up the wedded couple and the wedding party hopped onto a trolley towards Central Park. We arrived at the BoatHouse and had a quick photo session, before heading to Bethesda Terrace for the big photo shoot. Here is a sneak peek of Kat and Joe’s wedding. More to come this week!

Expanded for a second convenient location. I still have my original home studio in Manhattan, but now even better, more modernized, and just a ferry or subway ride away!
